Maquis Viola Carménère stands out among the other proposals of the same strain in Chile. The nose is very elegant and shows highly floral and fruit aromas. The palate feels deep with soft tannins, but also very fresh with an incredible long aftertaste.
“Viola is a Carmenère-based cuvée with Cabernet Franc and a little Cabernet Sauvignon and is very true to its main varietal, showing soft, green, herbal flavours, a touch of new oak and the silky, refined tannins that are typical of the Maquis style”.Maquis Viola, 95 Points, Tim Atkin, 2018.
“This is simply a phenomenal Carménère, with no green aromas whatsoever; it is subtle and floral, terribly elegant and with a very tasty finish”, Luis Gutierrez, Wine Advocate.
“Maquis Franco and Maquis Viola, both from the 2014 harvest, scored 94 points in October’s edition of Wine Advocate, which is the seventh best position in the ranking of the featured reds from Chile”.
